Cryotherapy for Minor Procedures
Cryotherapy for Minor Procedures
Cryotherapy uses controlled freezing to treat certain minor skin growths right in the office. It's a common, well-established option for a range of everyday dermatologic concerns and can often be completed during a routine visit, without the need for a separate referral or appointment.
What Cryotherapy Treats
- Warts — common and plantar warts are frequently managed with freezing.
- Skin Tags — small, benign growths can often be removed this way.
- Actinic Keratosis — sun-related, precancerous skin spots are commonly treated with cryotherapy.
What to Expect
During the procedure, liquid nitrogen is applied briefly to the affected area, causing the tissue to freeze and eventually shed. Most patients feel a brief stinging or cold sensation. Depending on the size and type of growth, more than one treatment session may be needed.
Part of Your Visit
Cryotherapy is offered as part of our broader minor procedures services, so it can typically be discussed and, if appropriate, performed during a scheduled office visit.
