Sick Visits
Sick Visits
When you're feeling under the weather, waiting for relief can feel like the hardest part. Arkansas Family Medicine offers same-day sick visits for common illnesses and infections, helping you get evaluated, diagnosed, and started on a treatment plan without unnecessary delay. Our providers, including Dr. Alison Richardson, M.D., and our team of Family Nurse Practitioners, see patients of all ages for acute, non-emergency health concerns.
Conditions We Commonly See
- Cold & flu symptoms — congestion, cough, fever, and body aches.
- Sore throat & sinus infections — including suspected strep or sinusitis.
- Ear infections — pain, pressure, or drainage in adults and children.
- Stomach bugs — nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea that needs evaluation.
- Minor respiratory concerns — shortness of breath or wheezing that warrants a closer look.
On-Site Tools That Support Your Visit
To help pinpoint what's going on, we can use several on-site resources during your appointment:
- Rapid Covid-19 Testing — results in as little as 15 minutes.
- Point-of-Care Urinalysis — helpful for suspected urinary infections.
- Pulse Oximetry — a quick check of oxygen levels for respiratory symptoms.
- In-House Lab Draws — bloodwork collected on site when further testing is needed.
If symptoms are new, worsening, or simply won't let up, a sick visit is a good place to start.
